About the Artist, Carole Keller

Carole was raised in New Hampshire and began painting at an early age. She studied painting and art history at Plymouth State College. She is a member of the New Hampshire Art Association. Her paintings are currently in galleries in Portsmouth, NH, at the NW Barrett Gallery and at the Bleu Waves Art Gallery in Meredith, NH.  She paints and teaches in her New Hampshire studio throughout the year as well as in Jackson Hole, WY.  Her work is collected nationwide.

"I am inspired by painters like Sorolla, who have gone before me, lighting the way. I am intrigued with the way light bounces on objects and the unique colors it creates. I grapple with bringing my strokes, one at a time, loosely on the canvas with the desire to push the lights and temperature in the hidden shadow areas. I am forever working out the temperature of the strokes I lay next to each other as I paint.

I make art because it's impossible not to!"
